The Waiting Series
#1 January
Delayed
or waiting?
“What exactly is wrong with me?” Her gaze
steady on the rag at the threshold. She kept staring as if expecting an answer
from the rag. The room seemed more quiet now. She sighed, lifting up herself
from the bed, “Maybe I am not proactive enough?” All of her engagements in the
youth church and how she has been full of positive vibes, showing love and care
to everyone as the welfare secretary yelled a big NO. Out of frustration, she
bit off her fingernails and let the tears flow. She had held them back for too
long.
She kept asking
questions. She let her mind drift to every guy she ever said no to. Suggestions
swelled, springing up more questions. “Maybe I should have said yes to Demola?”
‘And settle for less
than I plan for you?’ That was the exact question she was expecting. She knew
He would ask. He had always told her He knows the plans He has for her and that
when the right one for her comes, there will be a reassurance in her spirit.
She let herself recall one of her favourite
scriptures, Rom 8:14. She closed her eyes and let the tears out again, this
time with words in her mouth. Strength began rising in her, and she knew it had
to be the Holy Spirit, her comforter. Always on time.
Let’s talk:
If the waiting is for a guy, then it’s very
normal to feel there is a delay if he doesn’t come at the expected time.
However, if the waiting is on God, then you can count on His integrity. He is
too faithful to fail.
The big question now is,
“How long do I have to wait?”
That question is big, kamaparo (truth be told). Lol. Okay, let’s
take it one step at a time. First, let it be established in our hearts that God
is always on time. He makes everything beautiful at His own time. Yeah, yeah, yeah… I know you’ve heard
that time, and time again. That you have heard it before doesn’t mean the
statement resonates with you. The
resonance comes in the place of prayer (communion). There is such a joy
that comes from hearing God’s word. Whether it is His written word or the one
the Holy Spirit ministers to your spirit.
The saying, ‘The joy of
the Lord is our strength!’ is very true. So, if in the waiting, the joy of the
Lord is our strength, then, “How glued are we to the source of our joy?”
Never forget that in the
waiting, the joy of the Lord is your strength. As long as you do not draw strength from Him in the place of communion,
you will feel delayed.
This is the waiting.
You are not delayed.
In the waiting, there is
joy. The joy is in His word; knowing
what He’d have you do per time in the waiting.
In this beautiful season
that you’re in, find out what the Lord would have you do and be engaged with
it. Kai, you’ll be amazed at how the Lord will bring His son into the scene.
You’ll be thrilled, I
tell you.
You see, that blessed (of
course blessed to have an asset like you) man will be more than you prayed for.
More than you asked for.
Believe.
Shalom.
Rom 8:12 (NKJV)
“For as many as are led by the
Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
