 The Waiting Series -Drama

UNDEFINED

Ella envisioned both of them sitting side by side, holding hands and speechlessly staring at each other. This thought alone gave her satisfaction. The satisfaction she needed to get away from her constant depression. At least her desire to be with Chuks was satisfied in her illusion.

While others may call it an illusion, Ella would rather see it as daydreaming.

[Hundreds of miles away...]

Chuks' conviction was about to be proven. Every part of him was getting ready to receive the long-awaited answer.  He kept staring at his phone’s screen, waiting for the message to pop up.

Hadn’t she promised to respond today? Did she change her mind?

“Maybe something came up…” he muttered.

[His phone beeps]

It's a video clip from Damipe!

In the video, all she said was, "Yes, I'll marry you, Chuks."

He couldn't hold in the joy.

So great!

Nothing as beautiful as the moment a deep conviction is proven true. He just got a 'yes' from the woman of his dreams. C'mon!

***

Ella practically lived in a cabin named, 'Chuks Whatsapp Status'.

For the umpteenth time today, she checked his display picture (DP). In a way, this aided her illusion. She decided to check his status afterwards.

Usually, she was elated checking Chuks' status, but tonight was the reverse. Rubbing her eyes with both hands, she wondered if she was having a nightmare.

Ella's eyes almost popped out of the eye sockets. She couldn't believe her eyes.

"What?!”

 “No...”

“This can't be..." She kept checking the video to be sure she was seeing correctly.

[ Lights off ]

Illusions, dead.

How could love be this fast replaced with utter hate?

...

Fam, the bottom line is -Damipe is engaged to Chuks, and Ella is in total despair. Chuks and Ella have been friends for a while now, but not once did Chuks show intentions of being more than just a friend to Ella. However, on the other side of the coin, Ella already named all their children and pictured a perfect future with Chuks. She was hoping that someday he'd see beyond ordinary friendship, but apparently, that hope died the same moment Damipe said 'yes' to Chuks.

Encouragement

Dear Abba’s Daughter,

Don’t swim in the River of Undefined. It can be costly.

Remember, Abba’s son will gracefully pursue you and the Holy Spirit will make it clear to you without any form of confusion because He is the Spirit of Truth.

Trust that. Trust Jeremiah 29:11.

I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.

-       Jeremiah 29:11 (GNT)

Please, note that it’s okay to politely ask a guy what his intentions are when the whateverSHIP, (lol) seems undefined.

Most of all, delight yourself in the Lord. Seek Him intentionally. Serve Him. Like the woman at the well, only JESUS can quench the deepest thirst of your soul. Only Him.

Have you heard the gospel? Well, ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.’ (John 3:16)

Wheels of Faith (a short story)- Ep 2

The Waiting Series   #Episode 2 Wheels of Faith  (a short story) Photo by Lum3n Beauty in chaos   “Oh, sorry… I’m Tolu. Toluwani Obim.   I’m currently part of a project for young people battling with suicidal thoughts.”  “Oh, wow, that’s a lot. Okay…?” She hoped he got the message. Why are you calling me? Who gave you my number, and why are you calling today of all days? Please, can you go straight to the point already! “I saw some of your art works at Twains store yesterday.” He sounded impressed. “I believe your artwork would surge many damped hopes.” Valery chuckled. Yeah right. Like it is surging mine right now. Holding the phone with her right hand, she tossed some empty cans in the waste bin with the other.   “Our team would love to work with you on a current project, if that’s fine?” Like a flash, memories of Seye flooded her again. From the voice, she could guess his age. Another young man interested in her artwork. Nah , she th...

Abéléjayán

The Waiting Series ABÉLÉJAYÁN   (The one who smokes fish for another)     Falling in love with a co-worker     Dear Abba’s Daughter,    Abéléjayán is a Yoruba word (South West Nigeria) which literally means you’re caring for someone who isn’t yours. Let’s look at this a little differently. As Abba’s daughters who love the Lord, and someday desire Kingdom marriages, we need to put the horse before the cart.   Our Father already knows we deserve the best. However, He would have us ‘ smoke fish’ (purpose) for Him to satisfy His targets while we wait. Remember the waiting isn’t exactly for a man.   Just while you’re yet busy, smoking for Him, Abba gives you company, a co Abéléjayán ! Lol. Together you’ll smoke fish for a larger number of people to be satisfied with the Father’s will here on earth. In the Father’s will, there is perfect love and contentment.   Dear Abba’s daughter, seek first our Father’s will. Contrary to the wo...

You are FORGIVEN!

The Waiting Series #1 March You are forgiven! How many times have you let go of Abba’s gifts and blessings because of that feeling of not being worthy? Like Joy, many are like her… Worn out and tired, she kept rolling on her bed. From side to side. She slowly opened her eyes wishing all the thoughts were mere imaginations. No, they were possibilities. Who will want a girl like me? She reached for her slippers and walked into the bathroom like a helpless child.  Maybe I am helpless after all.   She knew the truth better than that lie, but how do you taste the sweetness of the truth when your mouth is filled with wormwood? The lady she was starring at in the mirror looked very different from the one her SH called beautiful just a while ago. Maybe she was looking in the wrong mirror. Truth is she’s been looking too long in the wrong mirror to remember the one her SH calls beautiful. She took a wipe from the pack on the mirror stand. Trying to wipe out her tears, another ro...
